Kansas City Carriages ④

I have always wanted to take a carriage ride, and a Cinderella carriage at that! The idea of being escorted in something that turned into a pumpkin in the movies seemed mystical to me. When I discovered that the Kansas City Plaza offered these Cinderella carriages; well, I was STOKED!

This picture is beautiful, but it's not necessarily an accurate portrayal; lighting can change anyone's world. My Cinderella carriage was nice; I rode it at night, so it was all lit up, the red velvet seating was plush, and it was pretty cool being paraded around the plaza while everyone watched. It was however, severely cold when I went. They did cover me with warm blankets, which was pleasant, but for some reason it just wasn't the over-exaggerated experience I anticipated.

It was a bit short and the sights I passed were all the stores and restaurants that I had already seen on the way there, so there wasn't much to explore. The cost was $100 for 2 people when I went; their website says it's $70 now, so prices may vary depending on season. I'd say it's something fun you can do if you've never seen the KC plaza, and make sure you go with people you like. I believe there are destinations much more majestic than this, so I'm reserving my high ratings.
