God's Not Dead 2 ⑧
Way to step up your game! I saw the first one, and though the story was decent; the acting wasn't necessarily up to par, it was a little slow, and the production was visibly your standard "Christian" movie these days.
There are extended events for some individuals, but the story itself is not a continuation of part one. It may add familiarity for you, so you can relate to the characters in part two, but you don't have to watch it beforehand. It was nice to see there were only a couple of areas where the characters weren't fully established in the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Character development was better (and necessary if you wanted to feel anything), a few surprise actors and dramatic scenes added to the higher caliber quality, and the production was definitely improved upon with more intense and timely cinematic instrumentals and sound effects. I admit that part 2 was a very pleasant surprise!
