God's Love Letters to You ②

This is designed to be a 40-day devotional; each day containing a brief subject matter, a corresponding scripture, a short letter as written directly from God, bullet points with questions to reflect upon, and a prayer template guiding you into communication with the Lord. It all sounds good and the idea is a beneficial one, but there's only one condition with which I'd recommend reading this.

If you just flat out don't know that you're loved in any way, particularly by God then I would MAYBE suggest this devotional. There are portions that reflect the truth about God's love for you, but this book is predominantly riddled with lack of understanding of the magnitude of how much God actually loves you.

His writings strongly enforce your responsibility to adhere to the list of rules that God gave Moses and the consequences of your failure to do so. He will remind you that God loves you anyway, but he mixes it with condemnation if you don't upholding your end. Without going deep into doctrinal truths; this book would not leave you knowing you're loved, nor would it give you the proper display of God's character. In fact, if you wanted to know God, you would likely not want to know Him any longer after reading this because you would feel immense pressure to perform.

I do not recommend this as nourishment for your soul; it will not edify you, but rather tear you down. The deceit is subtle, but that's the danger.
