Texas Roadhouse ⑥

I visited several Texas Roadhouse locations in Missouri and I was never a fan; mostly because I got spoiled by their competitors. The main thing a steakhouse is supposed to be known for is their steak, but they have always been a sub-par experience for me. I wasn’t really impressed.

Fast forward ten years or so when I went to a Texas Roadhouse in Conroe, Texas; much different experience. I’m not sure why exactly; I’d assume recipes and preparations are the same across the board, but apparently not. This time around I ordered a boneless rib-eye with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, and it was delicious. Their complimentary bread and butter was so good I almost filled up on it before my meal arrived, and the atmosphere was fairly quiet; except for that song and dance the staff lines up to do while you’re eating. This is the one aspect I did not appreciate here or in Missouri, as I’m there to eat rather than be entertained. But I don’t give any grief about it because I know that’s what to expect when I go.

Overall, they’re a decent steakhouse, but their sides and appetizers are the showstoppers for me. You can’t go wrong with a Cactus Blossom!
